Instructions for carrying into effect the following provision in the Reformatory Schools Act, 1866, 29 and 30 Vict. cap. 117: --"23. The expense of conveying to any certified "Reformatory School any youthful offender who has "been directed to be detained in such a school, and "the expense of proper clothing for him requisite for "his admission to the school, shall be defrayed as a "current expense by the prison authority within "whose district he has been last imprisoned." 1. On the removal of a juvenile prisoner to a Reformatory School, the cost of his conveyance will be paid by the Prison Commissioners on the scale provided for by Standing Order dated 17th October 1878. 2. If the clothing worn by the prisoner on admission is insufficient, only such additional articles are to bo supplied to him, on his removal to a Reformatory School, as would have been necessary for the prisoner's use in prison, had he been permitted to wear his own clothes during his imprisonment. 3. The additional articles of clothing supplied shall bi; obtained, as far as possible, from the prison store; but such clothing must not be stamped with the prison mark. T. Folliott Powell.
